Posters
In Iceland there is no tradition in design or use of posters. Partly it might be lack of places to hang or display posters. Posters were usually advertisements or fliers in size A4 blown up maybe to A3 or bigger, but not looked at like separate art form. I became interested in this form of design early in my carrier. Many of my posters were designed for different institutions or occasion like protest against war, the American base in Iceland and peace in the world. Then I made posters for all my exhibitions. I can say I was a pioneer in poster design in Iceland. I am not designing posters much anymore and I am not sure if poster design has improved in my country.
